A New Hampshire woman won the recent huge Powerball lottery. She holds the only ticket to win the jackpot of some $560 million dollars. But she wants the cash without being revealed.
Everyone who plays the lottery knows by now that if you win any kind of jackpot, big or small, the lottery can and probably will, use you, your name, your likeness in promotions. Its even written on the tickets that you give the lottery this kind of permission.
Yet this woman, who says she was born and raised in the Granite State, didn’t know that by signing the ticket in order to cash in her ticket for the cash. And now she is going to court to block the lottery from using her name.
This is one of the largest jackpots in lottery history. Of course the lottery authority is going to want to use her name and likeness in promotions. She became a star the moment the numbers were drawn.
However, come to find out, she could of remained in the shadow if she had done her homework before signing her ticket. She could of set up a trust for herself and whomever she wanted to include and the Trust could of cashed in the ticket and her name and likeness could have been left out of the picture.
But now she says, she is stuck and her regular life will never be the same. Sorry to inform her, even if she was able to keep her name out of the lime light, everyone around her would soon know she was the big winner. You just cant hide $500 plus million bucks.
