There has been a lot of talk all over the world lately about Social Media. What Social Media is doing to government. What Social Media is doing to news.
The notion that Social Media is responsible for the outcomes of elections including here in the USA. There are those that believe that Social Media is full of what we now call Fake News.
So what does Social Media do? Does it clean up their act? Does it foster the truth? Does it encourage the finding and spreading of real news?
No. Instead the Social Media giants went on a witch hunt. They do things like Facebook Purge and Twitter Purge. Google via YouTube, shuts down anyone and everyone that uses language THEY feel is extreme.
Facebook and Twitter announce to the US Congress that they are creating PROPAGANDA to fight what they say is fake news. Not correct or remove the news. But to create and promote their own lies to fight what they believe to be lies.
And thus you have questions like is Social Media good for democracy? It used to be. Until the Socialists took them over and began flexing their socialist muscle. And its why Apple big wig Tim Cook says if he had his way, he would not allow his nephew to use social media. And its why trust in Social Media is in the basement.
